IIM Kozhikode to Conduct Management Development Programme on Business Model Innovations for Profitable Growth of Firms

A Management Development Programme (MDP) on Business Model Innovations will be held at IIM Kozhikode during September 19-21, 2012. The objective of the MDP is to conduct a 3-day rigorous and advanced training programme, coupled with state-of-art lectures delivered by doyens in the field, on Business Model Innovations.  The MDP is beneficial to middle-level / senior-level managers in organizations of any size, any sector along with entrepreneurs with businesses in any industry, any region and any phase of the business cycle. The pedagogy of this MDP entails a judicious blend of lectures, case discussions, sharing of experiences, and interactive simulations between the participants and the instructors.  As such, this MDP embraces the style of a workshop.  IIM Kozhikode has the distinction of coordinating many such MDPs on managerial issues of contemporary relevance towards equipping executives with all possible tools, techniques and frameworks to help them systematically and profitably address pivotal and practical managerial concerns.

The MDP will be inaugurated by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode on September 19, 2012. Around 25 executives from various industries across India are expected to take part in this MDP.  The course material will cover the whole gamut of issues like building blocks of business models, discovery-driven planning, tracking of key metrics, Scenario / What-If Analysis etc. The workshop will be offered by a team led by Dr. S.Balasubrahmanyam, Faculty in the area of Strategy at IIMK.  The key objective of this programme is to help participants to explore and exploit latent business opportunities within, between, and beyond the existing markets for their organizations in addition to making strategic moves towards achieving and sustaining competitive advantage in the existing markets.  Each of them will also undertake assignments to diagnose and craft / redesign a typical business model that best suits one’s firm in the context of their market, industry and beyond. With such a hands-on learning around a business model of one’s own firm and a portfolio of many such business models, they can continue to apply the principles of business model creation / revision and experiment with multiple parallel business models, with renewed enthusiasm, in their business odyssey of corporate careers and thereby reap phenomenal benefits to themselves as well as their firms.  The details of the MDP can be seen at:
