IIM Kozhikode,
with its philosophy of transforming the education sector in India, today
announced the launch of its satellite campus at Kochi, on 9 June 2012. The Kochi campus will
primarily focus on executive education with full time and part time programs
for middle and senior level executives. The satellite campus at Kochi’s
Infopark will be launched by Shri Oommen
Chandy, Hon'ble Chief Minister of
Kerala in the presence of Shri K.M. Mani, Hon'ble Minister for Finance, Kerala;
Shri P.K. Kunhalikutty, Hon’ble Minister for Industries & IT, Kerala;
Shri K. Babu, Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries,
Ports & Excise, Kerala; Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode, and
other dignitaries.
IIM Kozhikode is
the first amongst the IIMs having an internationally accredited Executive
Management Education Program.
The Kochi satellite campus will be initially
housed within Kochi ’s
Infopark and will focus primarily on executive education – both long term and
short term, as well as specialized courses for executives of IT sector.
Initially, the Satellite centre will be offering one year executive MBA program
as well as two year part time programs in addition to a large number of short
duration Management Development Programs. As the campus is located inside the
Infopark, Kochi ,
it will directly help the executives at the park to hone their management
skills thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Indian IT sector and boost the
IT sector growth.

has chosen Kochi ,
the commercial capital of Kerala, in line with the need to create the right
environment to facilitate the transformation of Kerala into a business hub and
a preferred investment destination. High literacy and e-literacy rates aided by
government led projects contribute to employable manpower resource in Kerala.
The Government of Kerala is consistently aiming for an IT led growth over the
next few years. The recent NASSCOM survey on 9 leading Indian ITES destinations
covering a range of parameters including land costs, power and communication
infrastructure ranked the Kochi as the second best ITES destination above
Metros like Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi.
The initial
facility inside Kochi’s Infopark envisages commencement of admissions from October
2012.
